Juntaro Mitsukawa Hardwood Ryoba

As a professional high-end Finish Carpenter , I've been using the cheaper throwaway / changeable blade saws for 30 years , the Gyokucho . .....always wanting to try the handmade saws I sometime read about , I decided to try one of these from Sunday Carpenter. Entry level handmade Mitsukawa seemed a good place to start , considering the price. After putting it to the test for 2 weeks , I find that I like almost everything about it . Tracks very well to the scribed line , is light and well balanced...fast cutting and I can still change the blade when I think it's time . I pretty much consistently get a year of careful use out of blades like these. Only thing I do not like is the screw that holds the blade in ...it protrudes unnecessarily . Small thing sort of , and I'm already past thinking / caring about it . but, if looking for another of these in the future. maybe....it will be a thing I reconsider . Maybe.....
